Wider Curriculum

Design Technology - In DT this half term we will be looking at food and nutrition.  To follow on from our history topic of World War 1 and 2 we will be preparing and making war time biscuits.  Thinking about rationing and the limitations they had at the time we will recreate ginger or honey biscuits from the time. 

Science - In science we will be exploring light and astronomy.  We will learn all about the different planets in the solar system and how they move around the sun. We will start our topic with a VR experience which will take us into deep space. 

Geography - Exploring Europe is the topic for this half term.  We will look at the different countries of Europe and how the borders have changed due to war. We will work on our map skills and look at the placement of Russia within Europe. 

PSHE - This half term we will continue with our theme of health and wellbeing.  We will contine to thin about our mental health and how we can keep healthy as we grow.  As always there will also be a focus on our Thrive objectives too. 

PE - This half term we will be perfecting our dancing skills by looking at swing dancing with a focus on rock and roll dancing.
