At The Roebuck School, our wider curriculum reflects our commitment to providing a well-rounded education that inspires curiosity, fosters creativity, and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. Through a diverse range of activities and experiences, we empower students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and embrace the world around them.

This term, Reception will be exploring a range of exciting topics, starting with the signs of autumn, where children will investigate seasonal changes and learn to observe the natural world. We’ll also be talking about our homes and communities, discovering more about where we live. Later in the term, we’ll journey into space, learning about astronauts like Tim Peake and imagining what space travel is like. Finally, we’ll look back in time to explore toys and games from the past, comparing them with those we enjoy today.

Parents can support learning at home by talking with children about the changes they notice during autumn, sharing stories about their own childhood games, and discussing their local community. Visiting local parks, looking at family photos of your homes, or reading space-themed books together can also help deepen their understanding and make these topics come alive.
